What this muscle is
The front-outer head of the lateral papillary muscle. Holds the valve between the atrium and the ventricle through tendon cords.
Why it gets uncomfortable
Still a head inside the heart. There is no way it gets a pull injury on the body surface.

You cannot press it from the surface. Chest pressure, palpitations, or shortness of breath: see a doctor first. It is not soreness you can rub out.
